Created by James Toole of Compass Institute and the University of Minnesota, the CD offers three professional development modules of varying lengths, which provide off-the-shelf materials that are easy to use by teachers and teacher educators. Each of the three modules represents a complete professional development package.

• The 90-minute module focuses on learning the change framework of adoption, implementation and institutionalization for service-learning.
• The four-hour workshop adds guidance for participant reflection on all three change components.
• The final module is formatted as a group discussion for study groups that meet five times rather than in a single workshop.

  The CD was adapted from a W.K. Kellogg Foundation retrospective study of its 18 service-learning grantees over the last 10 years. The units were written by Dr. James Toole of Compass Institute and the University of Minnesota, based on an evaluation study by RMC Research, and designed in CD format (for both Mac and PC) by the CenterPoint Institute.
